Well, I posted the event here and gave everyone plenty of notice. I even had a few people tell me that they would be showing up. However, when I arrived Saturday at about noon, nobody else was to be found. I'm really disappointed with the KNIGHT RIDER fan turnout on this. People are always posting that we should all turnout to support any kind of KR event or cast member.
That being said, because of that poor turnout, I was able to spend some really quality time with Rebecca. She is one of, if not THE nicest, most down to earth celebrities I have ever met. And I've met a lot. We talked for about an hour. She told me a few behind the scenes stories about working with David Hasselhoff and Edward Mulhare. She was nice enough to sign a few items for me, and I presented her with 2 of my latest, new and improved California KNIGHT license plates with stickers of her birth month, June, and the years 1983 and 1984, the years she was on the show. I also gave her 2 of the KNIGHT INDUSTRIES plates.
Later I attended a panel discussion with Rebecca and several of the other celebrity guests. It was mainly a Western convention, so my friend Roger and I made sure Rebecca was asked plenty of questions. KNIGHT RIDER and other parts of her career. After the panel, Rebecca made a point of coming up and talking to us again and giving me her contact information so that we can keep in touch. For those of you that did not attend, you really missed out on meeting a really wonderful lady and a class act.
