Well, I'm back again. Sorry for not being an active poster, but the economy really screwed the 'ol "Casa de Buck", and sucked the wind right outta my sails. That being said, how the hell have you all been?

I'm here. I'm just patiently waiting on parts... Got a scanner, tail light black out, and overlays. Waiting on a front nose & electronics. Saving for a dash. Going at this a little backwards, but I couldn't pass up the tax sale. I have an '82 Trans Am 305 CrossFire & I love driving it. I got one question tho. What battery do guys use? Deep Cycle Optima?

I have an optima red top for 2 years and it is still good. I have a 1983 trans am with the 305 Crossfire Injection and I drive my kitt all year round See, that's my problem. My T/A (garage kept) only sees the road when it's clear weather. He hibernates over the winter. I think that's what killed my Duralast battery... If it sits for an extended period, it "might" start. I know it's the battery, cuz after a good charge, it starts right up. Runs a little rough until the CPU reloads engine data, but then it's fine. I should probably get a float charger for when its "sleeping"... I'd like to get a sealed battery anyway. I recently replaced the battery tray, and I'd rather have a sealed battery in there. The old tray rot was NOT pretty. The previous owner tried to "fix" it with fiberglass. Needles to say there was no hold down after that. I heard that the Ultima batteries were better for the "classic" vehicles that only get driven once a week. Supposedly, they re-charge off the alternator quicker? Don't know if there's any truth to that... Or if they were referring to the deep cycle marine version.
