Well, since its been so quiet here I decided to start a thread to see what some of you are hoping to accomplish on your conversions this summer. I am planning on taking out my interior and replacing both floorpans before adding new carpet. I also hope to have my nose, scanner, spoiler and paint done before summers end. Hopefully with any luck my car will start to resemble KITT alittle more than a Blk/Gld GTA. I have a buddy that is going to help my swap out the tail lights, and I may even throw on the Turbo Cast wheels even though I dont have caps for them yet .
What will you Guys and Gals be doing to yours ??

I'm going to try to get around to finishing up my custom nose grills, test fitting the dash, and give the car a thorough sanding. The real goal is to get the dang thing into paint and body like I've been saving to do for months. It's about to get really hot out here in AZ, but luckily the rental house my wife and I are moving to has an air conditioned garage! Woohoo!

My car has been in the shop since last Wednesday. Had a transmission leak fixed, as well as getting a new lowered suspension put in.
After that, the exterior will be complete, and I can turn my attention to the interior.
I'm waiting for my new Tan Parella material to arrive, then I will take my front/rear seats, and my door panels to get recovered. I have everything else I need to convert to tan interior including brand new carpet, 82 seat belts and headliner material to recover both the headliner and the sail panels. My interior should look identical to how it rolled off the assembly line in 82.
I hope to receive my electronics, overlays and power window switches from Jupiter any day now.
Also waiting on Billy's new lighted gas pedal.
Too many things going on now:)
Joey.

Dont get me wrong it is awesome from a performance standpoint. "would be great if I drove the car on a road coarse everyday" It just sucks for normal driving. Makes for a very bumpy ride. Every time I hit a small bump in the road I feel like I am rattling my poor car all to hell. I think I would take the softer suspension if I were to get another car for a KITT project.

My stock suspension rides fine....except for the occasional banging that comes from the rear. I've know for quite some time that my rear shocks were blown, but it was never really a priority for me.
Plus, I don't really like the way the car sits right now, just a little too tall for me. I've been driving lowered cars for 9 years or so, so I don't mind it, as along as it is a quality lowering spring.
I can't wait to see it lowered, the anticipation is killing me:) I'll post some pics once I get it back.
Joey.

KOOL! Yeah definatly post some pics, I love looking at everyones work. Maybe you could do like a before / after comparison so we can see how the stance of your ride has changed. I recently started adding replica Vids to a youtube channel. It shows a bunch of KITT replicas, and project cars where people can see what all us Knight Rider / KITT fans do with our spare time. You have probably seen some of them, others you may not have. Check it out some time. www.youtube.com/user/Dshizz1976

Well "D" I'm just going out to find a solid ride and start from scratch, the failing construction market is still cutting deep into my pocket ...... so wish me luck

I'm planning to remove all the not original facory wires to make a nice clean start for installing all the things that will be added to my KITT, like connecting wires to all the buttons from the switch pod unit, lower & overhead console.....and driving lights and other special functions that I like to add to my KITT later. So it will be already prepared for everything! Further I'm going to work on my new front nose and dashboard, and I'm also going to try find two new color tv's, because I just found out that the ones I already have...have a pretty flat screen, which has to be more rounded else they don't fit in the original tv frames.
