There's a distinct possibility that it CAN! I happened across NBC this evening and took a good, close look at it and have already located some technology that can be used to build one - Granted, it will NOT be cheap by no means but I want to be the first in our hobby to walk the threshold of building the FIRST K3K voice Orb The "base" of the project will be in the upwards of $350 ~ $400.00 to get, then prototyping (the rest) of the project. This ALL has to be built on the original WORKING season 2 voicebox vox since tonight, I still saw the "old KITT" vox behind the sine waves in the orb. So, without revealing any details, a "glass on glass" technology will be utilized... I'll keep ya'll posted! Brenon

That's very cool Brenon! Good luck on this project, I'm sure if you have anything to do with it , it will turn out nice.

I seen that someone had one on YouTube. There's a couple, actually. The most recent is a non functioning one, and there's another where someone had the orb, and it looked decent enough that when it was working, you knew what it was. It didn't look exactly like the show, but it was an attempt.
It'll be interesting to see how this comes along, because there are people attempting to make one. So there must be interest in it.... Go get 'em Brenon!

Thanks for the welcome. I just came across the board a couple of days ago. I've been in the hobby since 1994 and its great to see how replica parts are getting more accurate all the time. Looking forward to seeing some Knight 3000 parts.

That is Taoworm's Kitt orb. It is going to be available from Auto Indulgence soon. They also make the Knight 3000 scanner and supplied them for the show. The scanner costs ONLY $4200. I will wait to get a scanner from Brenon and I'm very curious to see what he comes up with for the orb.

Wow, only $4,200? Heck, at those giveaway prices I should get two. I had seriously considered going with this style of scan for KIRA, but I really wanted to show that she's a "sister" car to KITT, with very similar technology. If I ever have a ric relative die or win some outrageous sum of money, you better believe I'd have a Knight 3000 in my garage, parked next to my KITT, my Time Machine, and KIRA.

Brenon, has there been any progress on the orb or mustang scanner?

I didn't know that there were many people thinking about building a knight 3000 replica. I'am sure many normal Mustang's will be used. And not too many Shelby's. ;D
